McTaggart-Cowan, a self taught meteorologist, discusses at length his research in weather forecasting and experimental trans-Atlantic aviation during World War II. He comments on his activities after the war which include scaling down air bases, maintaining the teletype lines, pioneering meteorological research in the Arctic during the creation of the Joint Arctic Weather Stations project, and acting as Director, Canadian Meteorological Service. Further discussions concern the relationship between the United States and Canadian Weather Service, Canada's assistance to European countries after World War II, and the wartime contributions of Taffy Powell and D.T.C. Bennett.
